The Expeditionary Combat Support System (ECSS) dramatically
enhances Warfighter support by boldly transforming the way the
Air Force performs its logistics business. ECSS enables the transformation
of the Air Force logistics operation by incorporating best
business practices and processes, and supporting them with specially
selected and configured Information Technology
products.
ECSS creates an enterprise-wide solution
in an integrated data environment. In this integrated environment,
ECSS provides universal access to consistent, real-time information,
allowing for pro-active planning and scheduling, enhanced and
standardized reporting, and total asset visibility across the enterprise.
ECSS will become a reality thanks to the teamwork of the Air Force, Team CSC, and Oracle. These groups collaborate on all aspects of the program, from planning to development to the fielding of the solution. Such direct involvement from all corners of the Air Force Logistics community, as well as from experienced industry professionals, ensures that ECSS will support the Air Force’s logistics needs.
